January Ice Storms

Well, we had some cold weather come our way during the last week of January. It did not hit us until about 10pm, but we woke up with ice everywhere. It had rained right before the freeze so our horse pastures where a solid sheet of ice. Nick, of course had to run out in his PJs to check it all out. It did not take long befor he slipped and that was enough for him. Next time we get some winter weather, we are hoping for snow.

Happy Birthday Kenny!

Holli and Hayden came down from McKinney to have dinner with us and celebrate Kenny's birthday. Nick, Gracie and Hayden had so much fun playing together and watching movies while the adults enjoyed lattes on the cold January day. Of course Kenny got a german chocolate birthday cake that he shared with eveyone. All in all, it was a great day.

Another 75 Degree Day in January!

What a great day to 4X4 around the pasture. Gracie K. and Nick had a blast driving around and enjoying the sun. It was even warm enough to give Scooter a bath. It is nice to get all clean so that you can get all dirty again in the horse pasture. Poor dog gets walked by being dragged behind a 4x4 driven by a 4 year old.

Lazy Cowboy Days

Nick, Byron and Shy enjoying a beautiful day in January. 70 degrees in January is not something you take lightly. So we got outside and enjoyed the perfect day. Life does not get much better for a couple 4 year old cowboys. Shy as always patiently took the boys for rides in the round pen like the dependable babysitter he is. When it comes to Shy, "Pretty is as pretty does".

Other round pen events included "Digging for Gold" (until the mommies found out what they where using for gold "nuggets", YIKES!) and, the "Let's run as fast as we can towards the cow pasture while mom is distracted with the boys" game.
Gracie and Mara watched from the sidelines. They need to get a little bigger before they can get on Shy.
