2011 Memories

Who can forget the Texas Freeze of 2011.  School was out for an entire week and the Super Bowl was a Flop.  But we stayed warm in our cozy apartment in Waxahachie Texas.

St. Patties Day in NOLA with Uncle Dan and family.  This was out last visit before they moved to Kodiak Alaska.

Longhorn soccer filled up our spring and fall.  The Longhorns know how to celebrate the end of the season!

We moved in March.  Gracie cooked out first meal in our new house, which is really our original house Mommy brought her babies home from the hospital to.

Maddie and Nick at Grasshopper Ranch.  Uncle Dan and the family came to visit us on there way to Alaska.

Mommy, Nick and Gracie took a train to CA from Tx.  It was so much fun.  What a way to spend the summer.

After the train ride, we met Mimi and Papa and stayed at Pismo Beach.  Fun times in California!

This Old Horse Knows His Way Home- Chris Ledoux

RIP Shy Boy

Riding back from town tonight
I don't need the trail moonlight
This old horse knows his way home

I don't have to touch the reins
He's right on track just like a train
This old horse knows his way home

He waits faithfully to save me
From poker games and painted ladies
This old horse knows his way home

And when my heart or pay is gone
I climb up and just hold on
This old horse knows his way home

Cowboy blues fade to black
In an old bunkhouse rack
And so I whistle back in the saddle again
Riding back from town tonight
I don't need the trail moonlight
This old horse knows his way home

Summer is here!

What a perfect time for the Jones' to come visit! The weather was great and so was the food! Shrimp and lemon kobobs, and ceasar chicken kobobs, potatoes and bacon kobos, and huge steaks where grilled up by the men for all to enjoy. We swam, rode horses, harvested the garden during the day. We sipped margaritas and munched on chips and salsa under the stars of the big Texas sky. Great memories were made and we can't wait until the next visit.

Mimi and Papa's visit

Mimi and Papa went to the Dallas zoo with Marci, Nick and Gracie. We had a picnic and saw all the wild animals. What a beautiful day at the zoo!

On Valentines Day, we had a pasta dinner with a cool heart shaped cake mommy made. It was so much fun spending time with Mimi and Papa. We can't wait until their next visit.

January Ice Storms

Well, we had some cold weather come our way during the last week of January. It did not hit us until about 10pm, but we woke up with ice everywhere. It had rained right before the freeze so our horse pastures where a solid sheet of ice. Nick, of course had to run out in his PJs to check it all out. It did not take long befor he slipped and that was enough for him. Next time we get some winter weather, we are hoping for snow.

Happy Birthday Kenny!

Holli and Hayden came down from McKinney to have dinner with us and celebrate Kenny's birthday. Nick, Gracie and Hayden had so much fun playing together and watching movies while the adults enjoyed lattes on the cold January day. Of course Kenny got a german chocolate birthday cake that he shared with eveyone. All in all, it was a great day.

Another 75 Degree Day in January!

What a great day to 4X4 around the pasture. Gracie K. and Nick had a blast driving around and enjoying the sun. It was even warm enough to give Scooter a bath. It is nice to get all clean so that you can get all dirty again in the horse pasture. Poor dog gets walked by being dragged behind a 4x4 driven by a 4 year old.
